JOHOR BARU: Continuous heavy rain caused Kampung Pasir in Tampoi to be hit by flash floods again.
The Johor Baru District Disaster Management Committee secretariat said nine people from two families were evacuated to the temporary transit centre at the Kampung Pasir Community Centre.
"The flood was caused by two hours of heavy rain and was compounded by the water gate not functioning well.
"The water rose by about 30cm," the secretariat said in a statement.
On Saturday, heavy rain, which lasted for an hour and a half led to floods in the same area. At that time, the heavy downpour caused the water to rise by about 1m and affected 200 houses in the area. - NST
