The Perak government will contribute RM50,000 to each state assemblyperson's service centre in the state to help their constituents affected by floods as well as the conditional movement control order (MCO) and the enhanced MCO.
In a statement, Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu said the state government has allocated RM2.95 million to be channelled to all 59 state assembly service centres including the 24 service centres under opposition representatives.
Faizal said the contribution was a sign of concern for the targeted groups of constituents regardless of race, religion and political inclination, to ease their burden with regards to floods and the Covid-19 pandemic.
Prior to this, the state government had contributed RM80,000 which was divided into four payments to all state assemblypersons to be channelled to those affected.
"The state government hopes that the distribution amounting to RM50,000 to the service centres will be given to the targeted groups in an organised and transparent manner," added Faizal.
According to a report by Bernama, as of 7 am today, 187 residents were affected by floods in three districts namely Kerian, Hilir Perak and Manjung.
