MELAKA: A university official has been detained for allegedly receiving a Honda Accord car as a bribe from a construction company.
The suspect, in his 50s, was detained at 3pm when he was called in for questioning at the Melaka office of the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC).
Melaka MACC director Shahril Che Saad said the suspect was alleged to have received the Honda Accord, valued at RM174,500 as an inducement for the Klang company to win a RM1.65 million contract.
He said a remand application will be made at the magistrate’s court tomorrow. - FMT
