10.30am: Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi advises Khairy Jamaluddin to wait for the upcoming party elections.

"Party positions can be contested by anyone, be patient comrade Khairy," he says in a reply last night to a Facebook post by the latter.

In the post - published Tuesday - Khairy says Zahid has no moral authority to take part in talks to form a government.

Khairy aspires to become the Umno president someday.

Meanwhile, in a separate Facebook post, Umno supreme council member Puad Zarkashi says MCA and MIC must accept the fact that BN will not join PN, and will back a "unity government", as in Perak and Pahang, he says. - Mkini
