KUALA LUMPUR: Several Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders were seen arriving at the Umno headquarters for a BN Supreme Council meeting scheduled at 2pm.
The leaders included BN deputy chairman Mohamad Hassan, Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan and MIC president SA Vigneswaran and his deputy, M Saravanan.
Melaka Umno chief Abd Rauf Yusoh was also seen entering the building, after Umno information chief Isham Jalil arrived earlier.
The BN Supreme Council meeting is expected to discuss cooperation with other coalitions in forming the government post-GE15.
Earlier, BN MPs joined coalition chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at the Seri Pacific hotel for a meeting.
Pakatan Harapan leaders were also present, with representatives from both coalitions holding discussions on forming the federal government.
At a press conference, Zahid said all BN MPs will follow the Supreme Council’s decision on the formation of the government.
He said any statutory declarations signed by BN MPs before this were invalid.
Meanwhile, the King has given party leaders and heads of coalitions a one-day extension of the deadline to propose their prime ministerial candidate. They have until 2pm tomorrow to submit their names. - FMT
