Covid-19 (Nov 20): 1,633 new cases, 2 deaths

 


COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,633 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 26,798, down 22.8 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (562)
Penang (148)
Sabah (133)
Kuala Lumpur (131)
Malacca (127)
Kedah (99)
Negeri Sembilan (80)
Perak (65)
Pahang (53)
Sarawak (51)
Johor (50)
Terengganu (49)
Kelantan (41)
Putrajaya (39)
Perlis (3)
Labuan (2)


Another two deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday in Penang and Selangor.

Over the past week, an average of 6.7 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 5.2, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,595 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 120 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 101 deaths last month and 158 deaths in September.

There are 1,857 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 94 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (141) followed by Sabah (92) and Perak (46). - Mkini
