Covid-19 (Nov 8): 3,781 new cases, 9 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 3,781 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 35,457, up 30.2 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Another 9 deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which 3 were declared as "brought in dead".

These deaths were reported in Perak (4), Selangor (2), Kedah (1), Negeri Sembilan (1) and Perlis (1).

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,504 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 29 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 101 deaths last month and 158 deaths in September.

There are 1,676 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 75 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (139) followed by Sabah (104) and Johor (62).
