PETALING JAYA: The Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) coalition led by Dr Mahathir Mohamad will be releasing its general election (GE15) manifesto in the “next few days”, says an insider.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told FMT that they sighted copies of the document in the former prime minister’s office today.
“Yes, Tun will do that (release the manifesto) but it is a very simple ‘Aku Janji’,” the source said, referring to written pledges used by some political parties.
Barisan Nasional released their election manifesto yesterday, Perikatan Nasional and Gabungan Parti Sarawak on Sunday, and Pakatan Harapan (PH) last week on Nov 2.
Previously, Mahathir was quoted as saying that his coalition would not be making any “empty promises” to convince the people to vote for it in GE15.
He said what GTA could offer was to turn Malaysia around so that the country would become an Asian Tiger once again, the Daily Express reported.
Mahathir, who is defending his Langkawi seat, recently criticised PH’s renewed pledge to abolish tolls if the coalition wins the 15th general election (GE15), questioning its feasibility.

Malaysians are set to go to the polls on Nov 19, with Nov 15 set for early voting. - FMT
