Having Muda on board eases PH load, says Nik Nazmi

PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad says Muda and PH share similar views.

PETALING JAYA: A PKR leader says Pakatan Harapan will find it easier to implement its election pledges with Muda as a partner should the coalition come to power.

PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said PH and Muda had similar ideology “(so) it will be easier for us to carry out our policies,” he said in a debate with representatives from Muda, Parti Sosialis Malaysia, Perikatan Nasional and MCA at Gerakbudaya.

He said this in response to a question about the coalition’s political will to carry out reforms.

Nik Nazmi – who is defending the Setiawangsa seat on Nov 19 – had alluded to a remark by former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad that election manifestos were only a guide, not binding promises.

PH formed an electoral pact with Muda last month to avoid seat clashes. Muda was given a mandate to use its own logo in the general election.

Muda applied to join PH in September but ran into opposition from PKR, whose leaders were divided on the value Muda brought to PH. - FMT
