Pahang PH to form state govt with BN

 

Pahang PH chairman Amirudin Shari said the 16 seats secured by BN and eight secured by PH in GE15 have passed the simple majority of 22 seats required to form the state government.

PETALING JAYA: Pahang Pakatan Harapan (PH) has unanimously agreed to form a state government with Barisan Nasional (BN).

In a statement, Pahang PH chairman Amirudin Shari said the decision was reached at a meeting that he chaired.

“We hope that the new Pahang state government can be formed to ensure that the administration of the state runs smoothly,” he said.

The 16 seats secured by BN and eight secured by PH in GE15 have passed the simple majority of 22 seats required to form the state government, he added.

Perikatan Nasional (PN) obtained 17 seats. This led to a hung state assembly.

Polling for the Tioman seat was postponed to Dec 7 due to the death of PN candidate Yunus Ramli on voting day, believed to be due to a heart attack.

However, the result of the Tioman state seat will not be a factor in determining who forms the government. - FMT
