PAS has no intention to form govt with Bersatu - Rafizi

GE 15 | PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli claims that PAS has no intention of forming a new government with Bersatu, its ally in Perikatan Nasional (PN).

This is because, the Pandan candidate said, PAS knows that PN will not win in this general election (GE15).

"PN chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin was scammed. PAS has no intention at all to form a government together with PN because it knows PN cannot win in the GE15," he told a 700-strong audience at Desa Pinggiran Putra in Kajang yesterday.

Rafizi (above) drew this conclusion on grounds that PAS uses its own logo in Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah for GE15.

"Any alliance that is built on the betrayal will eventually be betrayed," warned Rafizi.

"Muhyiddin thought that PAS will stay with PN, but actually PAS is scamming Bersatu. Bersatu is wealthy, same with Muhyiddin," he said.

‘PN recruited influencers’

He said PN's wealth can be seen in the amount of campaign material and the ways how PN recruited influencers in its election campaign.

"They can pay influencers, who charge between RM20,000 and RM50,000," Rafizi added.

On Nov 14, PN was rocked by apparent conflicting remarks issued by PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan and Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin.

Takiyuddin said PAS' position was that PN will form a coalition government with BN if necessary.

However, that was dismissed by Muhyiddin and he insisted that PN would form a government on its own.

Takiyuddin's comments were particularly damaging for Bersatu, which has been positioning itself as a replacement for Umno.

Ceramah to woo civil servants

The ceramah was organised to woo civil servant voters who are voting in the Putrajaya and Sepang constituencies.

Putrajaya is held by BN's Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor since the constituency was created out of Sepang in 2004.

Tengku Adnan is challenged by Harapan's Noraishah Mydin Abdul Aziz in a six-cornered fight in this general election, which will be held tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Aminuddin Harun, who has been picked by Anwar Ibrahim as PKR’s candidate for Port Dicksonhas made an attempt to distance Harapan parties from former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Aminuddin Harun

Aminuddin urged the civil servants to forget about the controversy surrounding the short 22-month rule under Pakatan Harapan.

Harapan was helmed by an old hypocrite back then, said Aminuddin, who is also Harapan's Port Dickson candidate.

"Forget about the 22 months because it was helmed by an elder who was quite a hypocrite, who failed to fulfil his own promise," he said.

Aminuddin, the menteri besar of Negeri Sembilan, urged civil servants to choose a coalition party that would take care of the welfare of the civil servants who were hit by the rising costs of living.

"That's why we need to make a change. The civil servants must make sure they are not going to support BN and PN," he said. - Mkini
