PETALING JAYA: Polling for the Baram parliamentary constituency in Sarawak has resumed with 12 centres open today after it was suspended on Saturday because of bad weather.

The Election Commission (EC) said the centres opened at 7.30am with most to close by noon.

The last two centres, at SK Long Naah and SK Long Luteng, will close at 1pm and 2pm, respectively.

On Saturday, EC chairman Abdul Ghani Salleh said voting for the seat had been suspended after election officials could not reach their polling centres by air, land or water due to bad weather.

The results are expected later today.

There is a three-cornered fight for the seat, with Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s Anyi Ngau going up against Pakatan Harapan’s Roland Engan and independent candidate Wilfred Entika. - FMT
