BELURAN: Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chief Bung Moktar Radin has urged Beluran voters to punish Bersatu vice-president Ronald Kiandee for breaching the BN-Gabungan Rakyat Sabah pact.
Dissatisfied with Kiandee contesting under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) banner and clashing with BN’s candidate, Bung said the former Beluran MP needed to be “taught a lesson”.
“He says we are the traitors, but he is the real traitor. He betrayed the people of Beluran. This kind of person must be punished, don’t vote for Kiandee,” Bung said in a ceramah last night.
He also said any GRS or BN leaders who break the pact and give their support to other candidates will face action. This, he said, included village chiefs.
“I will meet (GRS chairman) Hajiji Noor over this matter. Whoever doesn’t support the (state) government’s candidates will face action because Hajiji and I have already declared that the 25 GRS-BN candidates are the state government’s candidates.”
Bung also accused Kiandee of failing to bring much change to Beluran despite being the MP for five consecutive terms, adding that it was time they elected a new leader to usher in new development for the constituency.
He said BN’s candidate, former Sandakan municipal council president Benedict Asmat, would be better equipped to develop Beluran.
Beluran will see a five-cornered fight with Benedict, Kiandee, Felix Joseph Saang of Pakatan Harapan, Rowiena Rashid (Warisan) and Hausing Samsudin (Pejuang). - FMT
