The speaker of the assembly, Kadzim Yahya, said the decision to continue was made on the recommendation of the leader of the house, Hajiji Noor, who is chief minister and also finance minister, Astro Awani reported.

Kadzin said the assembly’s standing orders provided that the leader of the house could propose that meetings be held even on public holidays or on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Hajiji, who is assemblyman for Sulaman, had presented the state’s budget for 2023 on Friday.

Kadzin said the house would debate the Supplementary Supply Bill, with two more bills to be presented including proposals from the state ministry of housing and local government.
