Kunak assemblyperson Norazlinah Arif has challenged Warisan president Mohd Shafie Apdal to lodge a report with the MACC against her.
This follows Shafie's speech in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday where he accused her and two others of being induced to defect.
In a statement today, Norazlinah (above) said Shafie should provide evidence of such allegations to the authorities.
"I left Warisan on my own accord because I did not agree with the inconsistent party direction.
"If there is proof, lodge a report with the MACC," she said.
Norazlinah also criticised Warisan over its alleged role in the political instability which rocked Sabah in early January.
On Jan 6, Sabah BN withdrew support for Hajiji Noor to serve as chief minister. A day before, Warisan cancelled a last-minute press conference which was regarded as a sign of the party's complicity in Sabah BN's failed putsch plot.
Norazlinah said she disagreed with creating "political polemics" because it got in the way of lawmakers' duties to their constituents.
"Let the authorities do their work. Don't involve state assemblypersons in a power struggle," she said.
Norazlinah and two other state assemblypersons quit Warisan on Feb 6. They then pledged allegiance to Hajiji.
Currently, Warisan has 16 state assemblypersons, down from 23 following the state elections in 2020.
