"I won at selfies but lost at the polls" remark by Khairy Jamaluddin cracked up the hosts and the listeners of local radio station Hot FM, early this morning.
Debuting as a radio presenter in the 'Bekpes Hot' segment, the former health minister also told fellow hosts Johan Raja Lawak and Muhammad Selamat (AG), that he was at an impasse regarding his political future following his loss in the 15th general election (GE15).
"I thought (I would win) because when I was campaigning, a lot of people asked to take a selfie with me. But I lost. I won at selfies but lost at getting votes.
"After the loss in November, I don't know what to do. I'm 'jammed' thinking about my future," Utusan Malaysia quoted Khairy saying, cracking up his fellow hosts.
Last week, Media Prima Audio (MPA) confirmed that Khairy will start work as a radio presenter at Hot FM today.
The former Rembau MP will come on air every Monday to Friday, from 6am to 10am.
In GE15, Khairy lost to PKR's R Ramanan in the contest for the Sungai Buloh parliamentary seat.
He was sacked from Umno on Jan 28 due to disparaging remarks he made against the party leadership during the GE15 campaign.
Since then, there have been offers from the opposition for Khairy to contest in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan in the upcoming state elections, with the lure of the menteri besar's position in the cards. - Mkini
