PETALING JAYA: Digging into the past of previous administrations will not help solve the issues faced by Malaysians now, says Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim.
The Arau MP said that the current government should be focusing on the cost of living and employment issues instead of unearthing the mistakes of past governments.
“Remember that if we dig into old cases, we could only punish and bring down the image of the people involved but that won’t help in generating income for the rakyat. We need to give solutions.
“We in the Opposition will help the government because the priority is the rakyat but if the government continues to dig into the past, what can we do? They have the power,” he said as reported by Sinar Harian.
On a separate note, Shahidan also commented on the issue where Perikatan Nasional MPs allegedly did not receive their parliamentary allocations.
He said the move would make it hard for the representatives to help the people and to develop their constituencies.
“It will be a problem when there is no allocation. But if I ask, they will compare with the previous administration.
“There’s no point in administering if they are vengeful to the previous administration.
“In Pakatan Harapan’s manifesto, it was stated that all MPs will receive equal allocations but the opposite is happening now,” said the former Umno member. - Star
