Anwar vows to fix ‘dysfunctional’ political thinking

KEMAMAN POLLS | Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has vowed to correct what he describes as ‘dysfunctional’ political thinking that has been detrimental to the country.

He also expressed gratitude for the challenges he faced, stating that they have matured him. At his current age, he is committed to correcting the existing flaws in the system.

“Dysfunctional political thinking - sometimes going to extremes that are not beneficial, in speeches filled with insults here and there - have never led to what we want to build.

“The crucial aspects are good management and effective governance, not just rhetoric, not false promises. This needs to be cleaned up and policies must be clear,” he said in a speech during a meet-and-greet session with the community at Petronas Pantai Timur in Kerteh, Kemaman, today.

Elaborating, he said there are lessons to be learned from Petronas' experience, it shows that the country is capable of becoming a great nation.

However, this political leadership, management like that of Petronas, civil servants, clear policies, and efficient management.

“That is our aspiration in this Madani country. I don't care about criticisms and insults from outside.

“But believe me, we hold this trust to ensure that we return to glory because we have the capability,” he said. - Mkini
