BUDI Diesel eligibility transfer expanded beyond family members

 Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also announces RM500 airfare aid for 7,095 new public university students across the country.

Those eligible for BUDI Diesel can now transfer their eligibility for the scheme to any Malaysian who currently benefits from the BUDI95 scheme.

The government has decided to expand the BUDI Diesel eligibility transfers beyond family members, effective immediately.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said those eligible for BUDI Diesel can now transfer their eligibility for the scheme to any Malaysian who currently benefits from the BUDI95 scheme.

Previously, eligibility transfers were limited to immediate family members.

Anwar, who is also the finance minister, announced that registered owners with more than one diesel vehicle would be allowed to transfer the BUDI Diesel eligibility to up to three vehicles.

“This is an efficient government. We announce today and it takes effect immediately,” he quipped while speaking at the official Malaysia Day celebrations in Kuching, Sarawak, tonight.

Also present were Sarawak governor Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Sarawak premier Abang Johari Openg, and Sabah chief minister Hajiji Noor.

Applications for the eligibility transfer can be made via the BUDI Madani portal.

RM500 airfare aid for new public uni students

Anwar also announced a one-off RM500 airfare aid for 7,095 students across the country entering public higher education institutions in the September-October intake.

He said this will include students entering public universities, polytechnics and community colleges.

“This will benefit 7,095 students who need to fly between the peninsula and Sabah, Sarawak or Labuan to begin their studies,” he said. - fmt
