Maybank Bhd, the country’s largest bank, named Abdul Farid Alias as its new chief executive today.
The position fell vacant when the previous chief executive Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar assumed the position of minister in the Prime Minister’s department, he was made a senator and became the chief of the Economic Planning Unit.
Abdul Farid was the deputy president of the bank before this.
