SEPANG - The first international campus for University Al-Azhar, Egypt is set to open in Malaysia by next year.
Second Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said the campus would be located at Negeri Sembilan and the intake starts in September, 2014.
Idris said it is the first time the university has opened an international branch outside of Egypt and a recognition for Malaysia and it would be named as University Al-Azhar Tuanku Mukhriz.
Earlier, he arrived from Cairo, Egypt with 280 students who volunteered to return from the country due to the political turmoil that is taking place.
