MACC man accused of buffalo theft

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will give full cooperation to the police on investigations pertaining to its officer who allegedly shot and stole a buffalo in Hulu Selangor on Friday.

MACC deputy chief commissioner (Management and Professionalism) Zakaria Jaafar said MACC would not compromise on any errant officer as this could tarnish the image of the commission.

"We always prioritise discipline of our officers whether while on duty or off. MACC also views seriously any form of action of any officer which contravenes the regulations and laws of the nation," he said in a press release.

In this regard, he said MACC had taken internal measures against the officer concerned.

Newspapers today reported that police had detained an MACC officer and three men who were believed to have shot and stolen a buffalo in Bukit Sentosa, Hulu Selangor.
