Principal apologises to students during assembly
The SMK Alam Megah principal who told students to "balik India dan China" (return to India and China) apologised to the students during assembly today.
Confirming this, Shah Alam MIC deputy division chief A Prakash Rao (left) said he was informed of the apology by some who were present at the school at the time.
"I was informed she apologised during assembly, as she had promised to me when we met her, in the presence of a district education department (PPD) officer.
"Some parents were also in the school compound then," he said when contacted.
He said that it is now up to the Education Ministry to decide whether to take action against the principal.
MIC met the principal on July 31, and claimed she apologised foruttering the remarks during assembly on July 22, as she was angered by noise made by the students during the national anthem
MIC said that the principal claimed to have also told Malay students to "return to Indonesia" during the same episode.
The school, which is said to have 1,300 students, has declined to make any statements to the media.
