Dr M, the patron of Perkasa, has ZERO MORAL AUTHORITY to defend the non-Malays

Dr M, the patron of Perkasa, has ZERO MORAL AUTHORITY to defend the non-Malays
I am finding Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s antics in the last days of his life quite amusing.
Reprimanding Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia president, Ustaz Abdullah Zaik Abdullah Rahman, Dr Mahathir has forgotten that he was the main source of much of the racism coming from UMNO, and those who claim to champion the race and religion in this country.
Wasn’t it Dr Mahathir who, through the book, “Dilemma Melayu” played up the sentiments of the Malays to create a sense of insecurity before capturing their imagination and hearts of the Malays for the next 30 years of this nation?
He had to be sacked from UMNO during Tunku Abdul Rahman’s time, but subsequently after teaming up with former Menteri Besar of Selangor, Harun Idris and the then Deputy Prime Minister, Abdul Razak Hussein to stir up trouble that ultimately forced the Tunku to resign as the country’s first prime minister.
It was Tunku who said that, if Dr Mahathir joined UMNO, he would surely destroy the political organisation. Sure enough, after 22 years in power, he has not only destroyed UMNO and the people’s respect for UMNO, but also dismantled the public institutions in this country with the sacking of Tun Salleh Abbas as Lord President, and the removal of royal privileges enjoyed by the Malay Sultans and Raja-Raja.
In the 80s, when there was strong opposition against his premiership, the maverick had told the Chinese to migrate and leave the country if they were unhappy with the country’s administration. I have learnt that he had even said that to Malays and Muslims who disagree with him on the tolls. I quote from one particular piece in the public domain to remind Mahathir: “Kalau tak nak bayar tol, baliklah pergi tinggal dekat kampung, tak perlu bayar tol!” (If you disagree with the tolls, then go and live in your kampung!)
We have not forgotten the spate of verbal exchanges between the maverick himself and another UMNO minister, Datuk Seri Syed Nazri, who labelled the former prime minister as a racist. We know who is racist, and who is not. Dr Mahathir is certainly not what he now tries to portray for his own political mileage.
Even now, Malaysians have not forgotten that Dr Mahathir is also the patron of Perkasa, which has been the racist tendencies and willing to utter seditious words against any community, other than the Malay Muslim community. It is interesting that, despite championing the Malay cause and Islam, both President and Deputy President, Ibrahim Ali and Zulkifli Noordin, lost in the General Election 2013 in constituencies with a Malay majority.
People in the likes of Ustaz Abdullah Zaik, Ibrahim Ali and Zulkifli Noordin have merely emulated Dr Mahathir in the way he used to speak when he was in power. Therefore, I do not see what moral authority Dr Mahathir has, when he tried to project himself as a protector of the Chinese community.
In the first place, if Dr Mahathir was never born in Malaysia, this country would have been a lot more peaceful, and people learn to respect each other in a multi-racial and multi-religious society. - MAIlBAG
