NOTHING WRONG to call Umno 'CELAKA', they don't represent the majority of Malays - DAP's Ariff Sabri

NOTHING WRONG to call Umno 'CELAKA', they don't represent the majority of Malays - DAP's Ariff Sabri
On May 13, 1969, blood was spilled on the streets in the name of race. Back then, the deputy prime minister was the late Abdul Razak.
Now, his son is the prime minister.
But despite Najib Abdul Razak's 1Malaysia clarion call for stronger ties, racial and religious tension have been escalating to the point of concern.
And DAP lawmaker Ariff Sabri Abdul Aziz  has issued a stern warning and called on the "insouciant" prime minister to flex his muscles before the nation descends into anarchy.
DAP lawmaker Ariff Sabri Abdul Aziz
"May 13 took place during Razak's time. If Najib behaves like the thick and vacuous person and dullard that he really is, this country will again plunge into a similar catastrophe," he said.
If the situation deteriorated, he added: "The blood of the innocent and the not so innocent will stain the hands of this insouciant PM."
The Raub MP was commenting on the fracas outside the DAP headquarters in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, where a group of Umno Youth members threatened to torch the building.
Defends Rayer over 'celaka' remark
Lambasting the BN government, Ariff said it would be utterly irresponsible and lawless for the powers-that-be to continue abetting and allowing Umno provocateurs to start trouble.
"We must thank the police for being present at the DAP headquarters thereby preventing any serious crime from being committed.
"The threat is still there and the fact that spokespersons for that group have gone on to warn that they will burn the building, if Umno is offended, is proof that these groups can operate outside the law. Police must act on this threat," he said.
"Who and what is Umno that it cannot be offended? We the people, want to do more than that- we want to kick you out from Putrajaya," he added.
Ariff also defended DAP Seri Delima state assemblyperson RSN Rayer, who started the ball rolling with his infamous Umno is celaka remark.
"Umno is labelled as celaka- not the Malays. Umno does not represent the majority of Malays because more Malays did not vote for it. That is a fact. I am not repeating the math. Umno knows this, too.
"Celaka is a common term. The people of Malacca use the word as a plaything. The Indonesian Malay uses the term to describe something unfortunate, bad, or in that sense," he added.
Rayer had criticised Umno over a protest they organised in January where they unfurled a banner stating: 'Because of DAP leaders’ mouths, May 13, 1969 happened... Want some more?' -Malaysiakini
