KOTA BARU: Kelantan is expected to receive about 90,000 Pfizer-BioNTech's vaccine doses at the end of this week.

State Health director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin said the vaccine doses would be used, among others, at more than 80 vaccination centres and 60 health clinics throughout the state.

"The coming vaccine supply will also be given at the outreach programmes statewide," he said.

Like other states, Kelantan would no longer receive Sinovac vaccine doses from the federal government at the end of this month and will instead get Pfizer.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba had said the federal government would no longer send Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines to Kelantan and other states as most of the doses had already been administered.

According to him, the federal government had ordered 45.7 million Pfizer and 15.9 million Sinovac doses.

Kelantan would also get portions of China's CanSino vaccine once it arrives later this month.

Meanwhile, more than 500,000 Kelantanese folk have completed both first and second vaccine doses as of Sunday.

The figure represented 10.63 percent of those from the state eligible for the vaccination.
