PARLIAMENT | Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin today urged the opposition to stand in solidarity with the government which is struggling to deal with the Covid-19 crisis.
"It's true that the government is not perfect. But what is also true is that the government doesn't want its people to suffer, and always take action to save lives and the livelihood of the people.
"What is important is we must stand in solidarity in such difficult times. There is no need for us to argue and point our fingers," Muhyiddin (above) said in his briefing at the Dewan Rakyat on the National Recovery Plan. The five-day special sitting commenced today.
"This is because there are miserable souls, there are suffering fathers and children, our frontliners continued to be overburdened and the hospitals are getting under more pressure.
"So, let us work together and seek a consensus and success in every effort we put in. United we stand, divided we fall," he said.
Muhyiddin's speech came after an hour-long criticism by the opposition lawmakers, who called for him to resign. He appeared expressionless and calm.
