Cops quiz former J-Kom boss for 2 hours over sexual harassment claim

Police have recorded a statement from former Community Communications Department (J-Kom) director-general Mohammad Agus Yusoff over allegations of sexually harassing his ex-staff.

According to Bernama, he was present at the Kajang district police headquarters from 11am to 1.17pm today.

However, Agus (above) refused to meet reporters who were waiting for him.

On Dec 1, J-Kom officer Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani, 33, alleged that Agus had sexually harassed him.

At the time, Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Hussain said the complainant alleged that the incident occurred on Oct 21 at a hotel in Bintulu, Sarawak.

However, FMT today reported that Agus was also quizzed on another incident, which allegedly occurred on a boat, also in Sarawak.

Quoting an unnamed source, the report added that Agus, who resigned last month, had answered some 70 questions regarding the allegations.

Lewd video scandal

Prior to Wahab’s latest claims, both he and Agus held a joint press conference over a clip in which two men were engaged in a lewd conversation.

Wahab had claimed that he was made a scapegoat to frame his former superior for certain purposes.

According to him, he received instructions from an individual who also served in J-Kom, known as “Mr H”, to do so. Wahab also claimed that the audio in the video clip was edited.

Agus, a former lecturer and political analyst, was appointed as the head of J-Kom in February.

Last December, Agus, who was then teaching at the State University of Gorontalo in Sulawesi, Indonesia, had turned down an offer from Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to work with the government.

Agus had said that he was looking forward to retiring on the island of Sulawesi.

“God willing, my villa will be completed in a couple of months, and I will be frolicking in the beauty of the sea there,” he posted on Facebook. - Mkini
