Video of audacious Thai lady riding suitcase to the airport sparks laughters, condemnation

ALTHOUGH there are ample modes of transportation to reach the airport, human ingenuity and creativity has a way of turning a seemingly mundane activity into a spectacle.

Here the Bangkok Post showed a video on X where a woman could be seen coolly navigating a busy Don Mueang road atop a ride-on suitcase.

Unperturbed by the stares by the passing drivers, she continued to browse her phone as though it was the most natural thing to do.

If not shocking, her antics are bound to elicit some giggles and quite a few laughs from onlookers.

Although she appeared to be very much relaxed, trust us when we say this is no leisurely ride with the heat from the tropical climate coupled with exhaust fumes released by the passing vehicles.

According to the Bangkok Post, many netizens condemned her act as being dangerous to other drivers besides being irresponsible.

Although we could say that her conduct was a little out of place, the speed at which she “drove” her suitcase was at a slow pace. Cars could have easily avoided her.

Looking through the comment section, we can see that the suitcase riding woman had quite a number of supporters.

Netizen Mockingbirddd said the sight of her would have been a cause for laughter and happiness.

Another netizen subtly pointed out that her antics were tame compared to four people on a bike. Regardless, it is not known whether she had broken any traffic laws in Thailand.

Perhaps she is feeling the pinch from the economic condition of her nation, hence the unconventional ride, as suggested by Laura Walsh.

Here, a netizen raised an interesting yet hilarious question to be pondered by all. We suppose the slow-moving suitcase should have a category all on its own.

We understand that rising fuel prices and the increasingly challenging economic condition has a way of sparking novel ways to get by with one’s life.

But for those individuals who seek to emulate her behaviour, may we suggest a helmet to go along with your ride-on suitcase? – Focus Malaysia
