PETALING JAYA: Seven Malaysians rescued from job scams have remained stranded in Cambodia, according to the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party.
Five of the victims are from Sarawak and two from Johor, SUPP public complaints bureau chief Milton Foo said, The Borneo Post reported.
Foo said all seven are in their early 20s.
An appeal letter has been sent to the Cambodian government. They are also waiting for the green light from Cambodian authorities before they can proceed with the repatriation of the seven victims.
Foo said he will be working closely with the Malaysian authorities to ensure the victims return home safely.
In March, Wisma Putra said Sarawakians topped the list of the victims from Malaysia who were stranded in Myanmar after falling victim to job scams. Most of them were 19 or 20 years old. - FMT
