THE flood water respects nobody, not even men with status or wealth beyond measure.
This statement is best illustrated by the flooding that has inundated many Malaysians across the entire country, forcing them from their homes to higher grounds.
Recently, the Menteri Besar of Kedah and his family was also a victim of the flood.
In a recent video post on X by the Malaysia Gazette, he could be seen heroically piggybacking his wife from the entrance of their flooded home to dry grounds.
According to the Malaysia Gazette, the family was forced to move from their home at Seri Mentaloon during midday.
This is due to the rising water level of the Kedah River behind their abode. At the same time, a sentimental song is played in the background.
The comment section, however, was populated by netizens who were unimpressed by his predicament.
“Today he makes a pitiful face. Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, he will continue with his big mouth. I know his behaviour,” said Twidder, Inc.
Netizen Afffff wondered if it was his second or first wife who lived here with him at Seri Mentaloon.
Another netizen adopted an apocalyptic tone, suggesting that this is a sign that some disaster is soon to happen to Kedah. He suggested that the Menteri Besar resign from his position.
Ragum Besi echoed his sentiment, saying that this was just the second wave. He predicted another four, with the sixth wave being very challenging.
“Be prepared. Stop being a political faeces,” Ragum Besi added.
Beyond the noise of condemnation and dubious prophecy, we would like to point out to the Menteri Besar that the flooding at Sri Mentaloon is a great time for him to reflect upon the state of infrastructure and town planning in Kedah.
With the flood causing inconveniences across the board, he has been given a golden opportunity to serve the people who placed him in this place of power. —Focus Malaysia
