KUALA LUMPUR: Businessman Albert Tei was charged with four counts of giving RM176,829.03 to former prime minister political secretary Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin.
Tei, whose registered name is Tei Jiann Cheng, however, pleaded not guilty to all charges when it was read to him before judge Suzana Hussin.
The 37-year-old is accused of giving Shamsul cash and household items on several occasions between November 2023 and March this year as an inducement for the latter to assist companies linked to him in obtaining mineral exploration licences in Sabah. - NST
