R Ramanan takes over human resources portfolio from Steven Sim, who now helms the entrepreneur development and cooperatives ministry.

Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh has meanwhile been made federal territories minister under the Prime Minister’s Department, replacing Dr Zaliha Mustafa who was dropped from the Cabinet.
Sungai Petani MP Taufiq Johari takes over from Yeoh as youth and sports minister, while Johari’s previous plantation and commodities ministry will now be helmed by Wanita Umno chief Noraini Ahmad.
DAP’s Steven Sim has been swapped to the entrepreneur development and cooperatives ministry while PKR vice-president R Ramanan will take over the human resources portfolio.
Sim fills the post vacated by Upko president Ewon Benedick who had resigned last month.
PKR’s Johor Bahru MP Akmal Nasir meanwhile takes over the economy portfolio, which had been left vacant following the resignation of former party deputy president Rafizi Ramli.
Sabah PKR chief Mustapha Sakmud was promoted as Sabah and Sarawak affairs minister. He was previously deputy higher education minister.
Now-former religious affairs minister Na’im Mokhtar was also dropped from the Cabinet.
Meanwhile, DAP deputy secretary-general Steven Sim takes the entrepreneur development and cooperatives portfolio left vacant by the resignation of Upko president Ewon Benedick on Nov 8.
The new ministers are Sungai Buluh MP R Ramanan, Wanita Umno chief Noraini Ahmad, Johor Bahru MP Akmal Nasir, Sabah PKR chief Mustapha Sakmud, Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) president Arthur Joseph Kurup, and senator Zulkifli Hassan.
Ramanan, who served as Ewon’s deputy at the entrepreneur development and cooperatives ministry takes over from Sim as human resources minister, while Noraini is promoted from deputy minister of family, women and community development to plantation industries and commodities minister, replacing Johari.
Akmal takes the place of Rafizi Ramli, who gave up the economy portfolio after being ousted as PKR deputy president in May, and Mustapha moves up from deputy higher education minister to minister of Sabah and Sarawak affairs. The portfolio was previously held by deputy prime minister Fadillah Yusof.
Arthur Joseph Kurup, formerly agriculture and food security deputy minister, is now natural resources and sustainability minister, taking over from Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad who quit the Cabinet along with Rafizi.
Zulkifli is promoted from deputy minister to minister in the prime minister’s department in charge of religious affairs, taking over from his former boss Na’im Mokhtar, the other minister who has been dropped from the Cabinet.
Among the deputy ministers, Liew Chin Tong has been moved from investment, trade and industry to finance, while Abdul Rahman Mohamad leave human resources to join the energy transition and water transformation ministry.
Lim Hui Ying, former deputy finance minister, is now women, family and community development deputy minister, while Hanifah Hajar Taib has moved from economy to health.
Meanwhile Adam Adli, who was recently appointed acting head of Melaka PKR, moves from youth and sports to higher education, also as deputy minister.
Among the new deputy ministers are R Yuneswaran at national unity, Lo Su Fui (federal territories), Chiew Choon Man (tourism, arts and culture), Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh (natural resources and environmental sustainability), Sim Tze Tzin (investment, trade and industry), and Wilson Ugak Kumbong (digital).
The only deputy minister who has been dropped is K Saraswathy, who formerly served in the national unity ministry.
