The money was meant to pay his gas supply bill today.

Syawal Anuar Ariffin, 40, said he was away for the weekend with his wife and children when he was informed about the fire that broke out at 9.45pm, Sinar Harian reported.
Syawal said he kept the money, which was his working capital, in a cupboard in his parents’ ancestral home.
“I couldn’t do anything to save my money. I was supposed to pay my gas debt today,” he said.
Syawal, who has been in the gas business for 16 years, said the fire caused the gas cylinder in the basement of the neighbour’s house to explode.
He said some firecrackers left over from the Aidilfitri celebration were also destroyed.
He added that the fire broke out so quickly that there was no chance to save his belongings.
A neighbour, security guard Faizul Nor, 40, said that he was working at a school not far from home at the time and rushed home after learning about the fire through a WhatsApp group.
He said he heard five loud explosions and was relieved firemen managed to save his house from burning down even though it was located next to a burning home.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
In Nilai, a woman was found dead in a house fire in Taman Mantin Baharu that broke out about 11.30pm yesterday.
The victim, aged 32, was sleeping at the time, Bernama reported.
Nilai state assemblyman J Arul Kumar said the victim had suffered a stroke and was partially paralysed. She was alone at home as her younger brother had gone out to buy food.
“According to neighbours, they heard the woman calling for help but could not enter as the fire was raging and the house door was closed, preventing anyone from rescuing her,” Arul said. - FMT
