Nilai district police chief Superintendent Johari Yahya said police received a report from one of the drivers involved at 6.40pm today.
He said preliminary investigations found that the incident occurred around 11am at KM276 of the Plus highway heading towards Seremban.
"The incident is believed to have stemmed from a driving dispute between two local men in their 30s.
"The suspect allegedly assaulted the victim, causing him to fall, and made criminal threats against him.
"The incident was later broken up by members of the public," he said in a statement today.
Johari said police had identified the suspect and the vehicle involved and were working to locate him.
The case is being investigated under Sections 323 and 506 of the Penal Code.
He urged anyone with information to contact the Nilai district police headquarters operations room or any nearby police station.
Johari also advised the public against speculation that could interfere with the investigation.
Earlier, a video circulating on social media showed a Ferrari and a Perodua Aruz stopped in the right-most lane of the highway.
The footage also showed two men, believed to be the drivers, wrestling and fighting before one of them fell to the ground.
Members of the public subsequently intervened to break up the fight. - NST
