PETALING JAYA:
Kijal assemblyman Razali Idris has announced his resignation as Terengganu Bersatu chairman.

However, he did not disclose his reason for stepping down from the post, which he had held for the past decade.

Razali said he submitted his resignation letter to party president Muhyiddin Yassin on July 16, Utusan Malaysia reported.

“The party headquarters, including Muhyiddin, have yet to confirm or decide whether to accept or reject my resignation,” he was quoted as saying.

Razali, a state executive councillor, also confirmed that he would step down as Marang Bersatu chief in mid-September to complete various party matters at the divisional level first.

“I am only resigning as state chairman and division chief. I will remain a party member,” he added.

According to the Malay daily, Telemong assemblyman Zawawi Ismail and Hulu Besut assemblyman Husaimi Hussin also announced their resignations as Terengganu Bersatu information chief and treasurer, respectively.

It also reported that state Bersatu deputy chairman Khazan Che Mat would soon step down from his post.

“I joined Bersatu in 2016 at Razali’s invitation. If he resigns, what’s the point of me continuing to hold a party post?” he said. - FMT
