Zaharin Mohd Yasin is inviting the media and his friends to the hearing of a case linked to a Puteri Umno leader.
PETALING JAYA: A blogger will be charged in the Klang High Court tomorrow for posting an offensive statement against a Puteri Umno committee member on his Facebook page last year.
Zaharin Mohd Yasin, who revealed this on Facebook today, also posted an invitation to the media and his friends to attend the hearing scheduled to begin at 9am.
He said the charge would be presented by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.
It is believed the case concerned an accusation he made against the Puteri Umno leader, Mimie Hariane Alias, being a “GRO” (guest relations officer).
His post on the allegation has since been removed.
Mimie made a police report against Zaharin on Oct 8 last year after the post appeared.
The post, with a photo of Mimie attached, claimed the woman in the picture was a GRO in Bukit Bintang.
Zaharin had previously been investigated for other posts on social media, including one that touched on the Johor sultanate.
He had also been remanded for three days for an investigation of offensive and defamatory statements on a tragic incident in Johor involving the deaths of eight young cyclists rammed by a motorist. -FMT
