Johor seat jumps show opposition’s self-interest, says Nong Chik

The inclination of opposition party candidates to change their constituencies showed that they are more interested in their personal agenda than in serving the people, claimed Lembah Pantai Umno chief Raja Nong Chik Zainal Abidin.
Raja Nong Chik said the attitude of the opposition politicians was different compared to those from the BN who constantly take care of their respective constituencies.
“Even when we lost our seats, we don’t just change constituencies, we are still serving our constituents. Like myself for example, even after I lost my seat in the last general election, I remain loyal here (Lembah Pantai).
“It is their prerogative to contest anywhere they like, but what is the reason for doing so?

“In my view, the way the opposition politicians always change their constituencies show that they don’t really intend to serve their constituents, that if they do not move somewhere else to contest, then they will lose their current seat,” he told Bernama after officiating the “National Blue Ocean Strategy My Beautiful Neighbourhood” programme in Little India, Brickfields today.
Raja Nong Chik said this when asked to comment on news reports that at least four leaders of the opposition Pakatan Harapan pact were preparing to contest in Johor in the 14th General Election.
The news report had named the leaders as PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president (PPBM) Muhyiddin Yassin, DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang and Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub.
