PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan has unveiled its leadership line-up for Perak at a press conference in Ipoh yesterday.
Perak Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) chief Ahmad Faizal Azumu was appointed as chairman while state Amanah chief Asmuni Awi, state DAP chief Nga Kor Ming and state PKR chief Dr Muhammad Nur Manuty will jointly hold the post of deputy chairman.
Ahmad Faizal said former state assembly Speaker V. Sivakumar has been made chief secretary together with PKR’s Imran Abd Hamid and Chang Lih Kang as treasurer and information director respectively, reported The Star.
He said former mentri besar Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin was one of the nine committee members and would also act as elections director for the state.
Ahmad Faizal said discussions on candidate selection were already being held between the four parties.
“We are working on having more than one potential candidate for each state and parliamentary constituency in our proposal list to be submitted to our presidential council for final selection,” The Star quoted Ahmad Faizal as saying.
He said the state Pakatan was banking on credible and likeable candidates to win the elections, adding that the leadership would ensure the candidates were also in the best of health. -FMT
