PUTRAJAYA: PAS is set to reveal all documents regarding the out-of-court settlement between Abdul Hadi Awang and Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown, said PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan.
The Kota Bharu MP said a press conference will be held this week on this matter.
“I am a lawyer. I will present all the evidence,” he told reporters outside the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office today.
Earlier, Takiyuddin took close to five hours to give his statement to MACC regarding claims that PAS had received RM90 million from 1MDB.
He said he was summoned by MACC because his name was listed in the lawsuit against Rewcastle-Brown.
Last night, PKR president Anwar Ibrahim claimed he had bank documents proving that PAS paid RM1.4 million to Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown for their out-of-court settlement.
Takiyuddin challenged Anwar to show these bank statements.
“He has to show us. In my earlier statement, all of PAS Central’s bank account details, from January 2015 to December 2018, were given to MACC.
“Because of that, MACC chief commissioner Mohd Shukri Abdull concluded there was no evidence that RM90 million had entered PAS Central’s account,” he said.
Takiyuddin said the party will decide later whether to take legal action against Anwar. - FMT
