MECCA (Bernama): A group of 26 Malaysians have been stranded at the King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah since 7pm Monday (Aug 5) after the Saudi government denied them entry to perform the haj pilgrimage this season.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Fuziah Salleh said the group arrived on a commercial flight from the KL International Airport, but were not allowed to enter apparently due to technical problems over their furada (private) haj visa.
"I wish to inform their family members in Malaysia that Tabung Haji personnel are looking after their welfare, taking care of their food and beverages to ensure they are comfortable, ” she told reporters here Tuesday (Aug 6).
Fuziah said the group of pilgrims is expected to be flown home to Malaysia Tuesday night upon completion of all the necessary process by the Saudi government. - Bernama
