Briton found dead in hotel room in Putrajaya

A friend of the Briton says he failed to return calls and text messages.

KUALA LUMPUR: A 56-year-old British man was found dead in his hotel room at Presint 1 in Putrajaya on Friday.

Putrajaya district acting police chief S Vijaya Rao said police were informed of the discovery of the body in the toilet by a hotel supervisor at 4.50pm.

He said a friend of the man who was also staying at the hotel asked the hotel staff to open the room door after he failed to return calls and text messages.

“The victim had stayed at the hotel since Sunday for a five-day leadership programme and was the senior trainer,” he said in a statement.

There were no signs of forced entry. Police found a blood pressure monitor and a large quality of medicines in the room, he said.

“However, a post-mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death,” he said, adding that the case was classified as a sudden death. - FMT
