EVERYTHING is orchestrated by the government, by the PM. That’s why I took a few days to comment after reading and analyzing thousands on the Internet and the media.
Looks like a game and a political gimmick. The polemic about jawi, Dong Zong, Zakir Naik and the hatred note against the Armed Forces are well-planned. Some took it personal and with fury but to some (including me), this is yet another attempt by Dr Mahathir to strengthen his grip on the government and for his Pakatan Harapan to draw public interest.
He deliberately did it as a diversion. Who doesn’t know him and his tricks?
Umno and Pas will be signing a political charter on September 14, dubbed by analysts as a ‘impossible-made-possible’ cooperation that could severely harm Pakatan Rakyat in the 15th general election. Knowing how torrid the frame waiting for PH, Dr M used all this as his political diversion, especially to distract the Malays from the charter.
His attack on Dong Zong, which he labelled as ‘racist’ is a ‘venus-fly-trap’. Of course there was growing sympathy among the Malays towards him but it fizzled out when they realized how the Chinese institution who also leads the campaign against jawi khat, is in close circuit with him to propagate sentiments among the Muslims in the country.
DAP toys around with the issue with the intention of pulling solid Chinese votes for them. Yes, they too have to support Dr M in order to stay in power, and if Anwar Ibrahim becomes his successor, the fort will be built around them.
As for the Malays, their option is only to gather around Umno-Pas waist. Knowing how DAP only needs 10 per cent of their votes to win (with PH components), they Malays have to come as a one formidable force in the next general election, and this is it. No other mean.
Dr M is actually enjoying this. Helping DAP to break the Malays apart is perhaps not his ultimate objective because DAP has managed to form Amanah, a splinter party of Pas. His grand intention is to stay in power for as long as he could and find (maybe) another substitute for Anwar.
The hate speech made by Koon Yew Yin against the Armed Forces was deliberately done. Knowing how close he is with Dr M and Chin Peng the communist leaders was another provocation, simply to divert attention towards Sept 14. And Defense Minister Mat Sabu was quiet!
Another diversion is on Zakir Naik which saw only the non-Malay MPs launching a bandwagon to ditch him. Dr M remains firm that Zakir will not be extradited to India or sent to other country. In Dong Zong and Zakir cases, which is racist?
However Dr M wants to see more reactions to all these. While Education Minister Maszlee Malik had said that jawi khat will still be introduced in Chinese schools, there are still rooms to negotiate Dong Zong detest against it. Dong Zong will remain significant as long as DAP forms PH but there are news already circulating that the government pact is facing a break-up due to some issues.
I am not interested to know but PH is cracking, that’s all. And for that very reason, all this diversions are orchestrated to gain people’s sympathy for Dr M and his Cabinet. To me, it won’t work!
