The Federal Court has unanimously rejected Najib Abdul Razak's final appeal to postpone his 1MDB trial which is expected to start next Monday.
This could lead to a trial date conflict with the SRC International case should Najib be called to enter his defence.
The prosecution is expected to wrap up questioning of its final witness this Friday.
In its judgement today, the five-member bench led by Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat said there was no error with the Court of Appeal's decision.
However, it said both the prosecution and defence can make the necessary applications with the Kuala Lumpur High Court on trial dates when they meet on Monday.
Prior to the ruling, Attorney-General Tommy Thomas withdrew the prosecution's appeal application, as he is confident they can wrap up their part of the SRC trial by the end fo the week.
The 1MDB case will be heard before Collin Lawrence Sequerah.
