Perlis mufti urges for petition to ban Dong Zong to be signed

He agrees with claims that the organisation is racist and a threat to public unity.

Everyone need to know and accept the fact that Malaysia is multi-cultural, multi-religious and multi-racial society. It is true that the Malays are the dominant race only in Peninsula Malaysia, but the Dayaks are the dominant race in Sabah and Sarawak.

If everyone understands this fact, then there is no reason why anyone must start a petition against Dong Jiao Zong. Dong Jiao Zong is a Chinese Educational organisation and it manages almost 60 Chinese private schools in Malaysia. Does Mufti Asri manage a number of schools to know the problems faced by them?

Because of the above, won't it be fair for them to voice out their concerns. Malaysians must realise that our education system in Malaysia is in a "total mess" and considered outdated and soon our educational qualifications would not be recognised by anyone.

Malaysians had expected Pakatan Harapan to revamp the education curriculum and syllabus suitable for the current digital and informative era.

Dong Jiao Zong concern is not only to see and protect the Chinese to get a fair education but also want the Malays, Dayaks, Ibans, Kadazans, Indians, Orang Asli and others in Malaysia to obtain a quality education that will give them a brighter future.

Even Perlis Mufti Asri said a few days ago that 'Malaysia is for Malays' is totally incorrect and could be deemed 'racists'. No one has started a petition against him for this unwarranted claims.

Its time every citizen thinks that we are Malaysian citizens and we have to work together to build Malaysia to be a prosperous nation and at the same time be united and work together to overcome any small misunderstanding that may arise. - Mohd Kamal Abdullah
