Malaysia is for Malays, says Perlis mufti
Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin hits out at those who resist adapting to the Malay language and culture on the pretext of equality.
What is Perlis Mufti Asri actually trying to achieve?
The Malays know that they are citizens of Malaysia together with others, Chinese, Indians, Ibans, Kadazans, Orang Asli and so forth.
The Malay race does not face any threat from anyone and are seen living a happy life together with others.
Asri need to remember that Malaysia is a multi-cultural, multi-racial and multi-religious nation.
At a time when there is some racial friction caused by a foreigner, Asri statement is really uncalled for.
Currently, every Malaysian is hard-pressed due to the hike in essential foodstuffs and this sort of statement will further cause unwanted friction among the communities.
Let's work together to find out a best option to find a way to get affordable foodstuff for our Malaysian people.
