20NEWSMOE: 'Khat' decision stands, appears even on banknotes

Historically, the purpose of education has evolved according to the needs of society. Education's primary purpose has ranged from instructing youth in religious doctrine, to preparing them to live in a democracy, to assimilating immigrants into mainstream society, to preparing workers for the industrialized 20th century workplace
And now, as educators prepare young people for their futures in a world that is rapidly changing, what is the goal? To create adults who can compete in a global economy.
So, where does this 'Khat' calligraphy segment decision stand.
Will knowing 'Khat' fill one's stomach or compete in a global economy.
MOE would have to be realistic towards introducing any new study field in the school syllabus and these fields should actually benefit that individual when he or she leaves school.
The Malaysian Education system is already in the worst state of affairs which does not cater for a skillful society that is needed for the future employment needs with a knowledgeable and skillful workforce.
Malaysians have demanded that MOE immediately introduce vocational training and skills, and also computer related skills to school children so that it would be useful in their working lives which would benefit them in their employment era.
It may be timely to replace the current Education Minister since he has no real far sight as to what is required in the future employment sector where these individuals would have to face.
If the MOE were to bulldoze the 'Khat' calligraphy segment for the Standard 4 Bahasa Melayu syllabus next year, for sure this current Pakatan Harapan government would be a one-term government.

He wants to die without curses. Talking about reviving Islamisation when you own house is in disorder. He is contradicting on Zakir Naik and the Jews. Now insist again we are a trading nation and wants to be friends with all. India wants him and he lied that no one wants Zakir. So where do we go from here rakyat. Religion will be first with one and others work first and religion in heart. We should be ok if they pray during lunch or dinner or breakfast. Not when one has to stop the whole machinery . Which GOD states you pray first and I will give you wealth and prosperity, work 2nd. Its all 59/50
