ALOR SETAR: A 27-year-old motorist was killed after she was hit by a zinc roof which was ripped off from a house during a storm.
Marziah Che Omar (pic)died on the spot after she was rammed by a passing car driven by a 61-year-old man in front of the Sharifah Fatimah mosque at Batu 13 in Jitra on Friday night.

It is learnt that 259 houses in Perlis and 560 houses in Kedah were affected by the storm.
A statement from the state secretariat said that a hospital, a kindergarten, seven mosques and nine schools were also damaged.
“The situation is under control and no temporary relief centres were opened. We also received 315 calls about fallen trees, ” it said.
In Kangar, a total of 179 storm-related cases were reported in Bintong, Indera Kayangan, Kuala Perlis, Kayang and Sena.
In Arau, there were 28 cases reported in Tambun Tulang, Pauh, Guar Sanji, Sanglang and Simpang Empat while in Padang Besar, there were 52 cases including in Titi Tinggi, Chuping, Beseri Mata Ayer and Santan.
A family of six in Chuping had to be evacuated to a temporary relief centre at a community hall in Kampung Sena.- Star
