Najib Abdul Razak has failed for the third time to disqualify former Federal Court judge Gopal Sri Ram as lead prosecutor in his 1MDB cases.
This was relayed in a unanimous Federal Court ruling over the application by the former prime minister to oust Sri Ram from the prosecution team in three of his cases.
Led by Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, the panel took around an hour to deliberate on submissions by Najib's lead counsel Muhammad Shafee Abdullah and DPP Ahmad Akram Gharib.
Najib's RM2.28 billion 1MDB case is set for hearing before Kuala Lumpur High Court judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah on Aug 19.
