Perak exco Paul Yong expected to be charged tomorrow

Perak state exco Paul Yong is expected to be charged tomorrow over the allegation he raped his former Indonesian domestic worker.
Malaysiakini understands that the matter would be brought before the Ipoh Sessions Court.
The news portal has also contacted Yong's lawyer and the police for comment.
Earlier, The Malay Mail cited a source from the Perak public prosecutor's office telling the media to be on standby at the Ipoh Sessions Court tomorrow.

“I can’t confirm anything at the moment. The case might go on or might not.
“But maybe the media can stand by at the Session Court tomorrow morning,” said the source.
On July 8, the domestic worker filed a police report accusing the Tronoh assemblyperson of raping her.
Yong, who is also Perak DAP treasurer, has denied the allegation. He is currently out on police bail.
Yong has continued to clock into office as the exco in charge of housing, local government, public transport, non-Muslims affairs and new villages.
However, Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu said his decision-making role has been limited pending completion of police investigations.
On Monday, Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Hannah Yeoh urged the Attorney-General's Chambers to make a decision on the case.
This was after the matter dragged on for more than a month as the investigation papers have gone back and forth between the police and the AG's Chambers. - Mkini
